In December 2007 teams from all over the world gathered in Lisbon ready to go for the 30th edition of the rally. Unfortunately, on January 4th, while the pre-race checks of the vehicles are being finalized, the organization announces the cancellation of the event following the killing in Mauritania a few days before of four French tourists occurred.
